Who's the play about?
Okay..so who's the play about? Is it really even about a single person?? Well, in my opinion, this play isn't necessarily about Hedda specifically, shes more of a figure. I think this lay is mostly a comment on women in theolder times. Although there are huge male characters like Lovborg, they do stand a purpose in creating the silhouette of women in the past. Thea is like the disguised "weakling" and Hedda is just an insecure woman in search of power, but cannot find it, so she decided to get out one way or another. Thea is like that one women out of hundreds who actually did something about finding her way out, I mean how many women do you know left their husband like she did????...basically even thought she gets her power through men (manuscript), the important thing is that she GETS her power.

hmmmmm idk about the last part...but i agree with you for the most part. That there really is no "main character" because they all seem like the main character...well maybe except for like..the Aunt...Miss Tesman. lol. otherwise it seems like they're pretty...characterized and talked about and with (does that make sense?) by other characters...and the author.
Yea, because you THINK Hedda is the main character, but then why are all the other characters so vital to the plot and why is their characetrization vital to hers. Its like they are all intertwined i guess. Yea, like the aunt, and the maid are the only ones who i think i wouldnt be able to justify as main characters....and maybe Lovborg and tesman too. but i would definitely be able to justify The, Hedda, and Brack as main characters.
